Sydney Boys High School occupies a unique place in NSW education as an academically selective GPS school, and many of its distinguished alumni occupy leading positions in business, the professions, academia, government and the community. 

The Sydney High School Foundation Inc was established in 1986 to acquire, develop and manage assets for the benefit of the School. The Foundation’s Development Unit is an exciting recent initiative with the initial focus on completing funding for the Governors Centre for Excellence in Education, and continuing fundraising for the School’s other projects and needs.

 

Appointed by the Foundation and reporting to its Development Management Committee, the Development Director will manage the Development Office.  Building a spirit of philanthropy, you will be responsible for leading and implementing major fundraising initiatives within the School community.

 

This broad role requires both strategic and operational strengths, with a proven record in fundraising leadership and the ability to lead and grow a successful and sustainable fundraising operation across the whole school community. Importantly, you will need sound communication skills to build trust and rapport with potential donors - and promote a case for support that will motivate them.  Membership of Educate Plus will be well regarded.

Reporting to a capable, skills-based Board that will look to you for strategic advice, you will provide
leadership to a professional and well-regarded management team. You will drive the strategic
plan, manage key relationships with diverse stakeholders, ensure sound clinical standards and
business practices, and deliver quality care for residents.
For this key position you should be a proven CEO who can demonstrate success as an inspiring
leader. Knowledge of the sector is preferable to be able to manage the opportunities and
challenges facing aged care and you will need sound commercial management abilities.
