Over the past year The Salvation Army (TSA) has been working towards joining the two Australian territories into one unified movement that will be one of the country’s largest NFP organisations. With an aligned vision, united voice, stronger partnerships and better stewardship, TSA will be able to make an even greater impact on the many people who depend upon its services.


The Head of Professional Standards Unit & Quality will report at Executive level. This unique and challenging role will provide strategic leadership in two critical areas for TSA:


  • driving a healthy and strong culture of child safety and protection which is embedded into the TSA culture
  • leading the implementation and ongoing management of the policy framework and driving the development and implementation of a quality framework and associated processes across the whole of organisation nationally


For this crucial and influential position you will need at least 10 years’ experience in a leadership role that includes responsibility for managing professional standards, child/vulnerable people protection and possess a deep understanding of relevant legislation and associated regulatory requirements.


You will also require solid practical experience in quality processes and frameworks. Post graduate qualifications in social work/social sciences and/or experience in child related/human services are essential.
